DESCRIPTION
"Portable Extensible Toolkit for Scientific Computation"
dr Felicja Okulicka-Dłużewska (MINI PW)
sroda 26 stycznia 12.30, s 232C
It is an extensive set of libraries allowing creation of distributed data structures such as matrices, and executing many numerical methods, most of them in parallel. They include:
- vectors and matrices (many sparse and dense, sequential and parallel formats),
- direct linear system solvers,
- iterative methods (Krylov subspace methods) with preconditioners,
- nonlinear solvers,
- timesteppers for solving time dependent (nonlinear) PDEs.
Other features include logging of events, profiling, error checking and others. PETSc consists of many modules, each dealing with a certain subject, like vectors, matrices, linear solvers and others.
